week four

The first lesson we had was with Becca and we worked on our blogs again she also gave us the option to work on our essays. We then had tutorial with her and we spent the lesson looking at human rights, she made us then pick what we think were the top four. We also had to explain why we chose the rights so if it was 'right to live' i would say that everyone deserves a chance of life. The next lesson we had was drama and we started to properly mark where we were all going to be and how we were going to make the two scenes flow we also discussed the structure of the play first it would be the gender scene then the detention and finally the housing scene. Rob made us do lots of run through to  make it look at least a bit better then it did before. We then added a bit at the end when a foreign person wants to buy a house but they cant cause the person selling them is racist and then the person says 'i am human non the less' then everyone comes in speaking different languages saying the same thing. We also added in a scene about how boys act in front of girls. The next day we had drama again and we ran though what we did a couple of times and Rob told us that we are to naturalistic and we have to come out of our comfort zones and over exaggerate our characters to make them more funny and relatable. We then did a mini performance for the level threes and we didn't mess up we exited and entered when we meant to. They gave us some feed back and said we need to work on our characters and our volume a lot more. For our next lesson we had movement with Mandy and instead of dancing in her lesson we ran the play for her and she helped us over exaggerate our body language for example when the girls put on clothes she gave them a little dance routine to do, and then for the boys she told them to be much more manly with the way they move. Lastly we had a blog session where we could do blog or our essays. On Thursday we worked on our piece in room 226 which is a lot smaller then the theatre but we still ran it though showing that if we are able to do it in a small room like that then doing in on a stage would be no problem.
